Experimental Formats - Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
Experimental Formats
The story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is well known, so it was important to create a format that reinvig-orated it’s image while getting to the heart of it’s themes. The final design is a visualisation of the idea of duality and the internal conflict between ‘good and evil’. As such a technique was employed to hand fashion reflective aluminium allowing the typography to be viewed from two angles. Dr. Jekyll is represented by
the friendly appearance of Clarendon, While Mr. Hyde is set in a distorted and distressed Franklin Gothic. The reflective cover distorts the reader’s image, turning the theme of the book back on themselves.
